Favre is a Viking.

I am in shock. I thought this was done. I had gotten on the Rosenfels bandwagon.

Isn’t this the most bizarre thing you’ve ever seen?

Wow. Just, Wow.

ESPN was reporting yesterday afternoon that one Vike had told a reporter that it was a done deal and that he'd be wearing purple by the third game, and another said that it would be after the next one. Condolences on the King of Interceptions becoming a Norse.

I have visions of Adrian Peterson running wild, with Favre dumping it off to Shianco and occasionally going deep to Berrian. In other news, absolutely no one is getting by the Williams Wall, and Jay Cutler is on his tuckus after yet another Jared Allen sack. Vikes are running all over the NFC North now. Take it to the bank!

      SKOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!

I am impressed at how your love for the Vikes overcomes your hatred of Favre. You are full of forgiveness.

Dream on, my deluded friend. We ain't scared of no men wearing braids! Remember, Favre holds the all-time record for interceptions. We will gladly accept his conributions to the cause!

I'm trying to talk my wife into letting me buy a #4 jersey.

Sick and wrong. Can't stand Favre and all the attention seeking he engages in. PHHHTHPPT.

When Dodgers tried to trade Jackie Robinson to the Giants…Robinson refused and retired. That was class. Favre walks right into the arms of the rivals of the team that MADE him and the fans that loved him. Man, I hate free-agency.

The incorrectness (as I perceive it) of your last sentence is what allows me to live with this. Favre led the Packers to greatness, and in the end, Lying Ted Thompson (he of the bogus tampering charges against the Vikings) treated him like garbage. The fans held up signs saying, "Brett Who?", and other nonsense. The Packers no longer have any claim on him. Favre is cleansed of that iniquity. (At least, that's what I keep telling myself…)

I don't know….I've seen year after year of Brett Favre announcing he was retiring and then come back at the last minute, not allowing the Packers to move on, either. I have no problem with the fans getting tired of that game year after year, or management, either.

I've been a lifelong Packers and Favre fan. Last year I was terrified of him becoming a Viking. But honestly, I really don't care. He can play anywhere he wants to play, even the Vikings. I wish him well, and will still enjoy watching him play, even if its in purple. And you are right about Thompson, the way he has handled things has been nothing but frustrating. His arrogance in all things has been amazing. He is willing to dump Favre, but keeps standing behind his first round draft bust Harrell, who has himself admitted his injury riddled career is over.

I have a stereotype of Packers fans being drunken idiots whom I could never befriend, and here you go messing up my fundamental beliefs – you sound like a decent, reasonable chap! :)
